I started with a free site on tripod called Jackson Paradise and i did all the submissions by sending mails to other webmasters and with free submission services. I just got between 20-and 50 visitors back then.
After i got a domainname (first michaeljackson.nl later this one) lots more visitors came because google put domainnames on top of their lists (they prefer domains). I started to promote my site with submitwolf. I first thought Submitwolf didn't work, but after waiting for 3 months i got lots of visitors coming to my site. look at my stats
